A look at an almost completely different concept for the Huntsville School District’s Athletics Facilities Master Plan highlighted a work session for the Huntsville School Board on Monday night. 

Employees’ unused sick leave can now be paid to their survivors in the event of an employees’ death, the Huntsville School Board agreed Monday night.

After being placed on administrative leave on Jan. 26, Huntsville Intermediate School Principal Mike Cain resigned on Feb. 7. Cain had been employed with the district for approximately 23 years.

Next school year, Huntsville High School will become the first in Arkansas to offer a Child Development Associate Credential. 

Huntsville High School junior Leah Daugherty next week will be in New York City as part of the Honors Performance Series Honors Treble Choir. A total of 500 students from around the United States were selected for the program.

Huntsville School Board appointed a new member to its ranks during a special board meeting Monday night. Steve Brannan, who had served on the board for 13 years, was appointed to fill Zone 2’s spot, which was left vacant by Duane Glenn, who resigned earlier this month.
