The Huntsville Lady Eagles return one of their top playmakers from a year ago and will be helped out this basketball season by a talented group of sophomores, according to head coach Greg McCone.

The Huntsville Eagles’ basketball team will be taller this season than in previous years, and will return one of the better guards in northwest Arkansas in senior Mason Davidson.

Huntsville High golfer Coleman Henry on Monday qualified for the Class 4A state golf match after beating a Pea Ridge player in a playoff at the district match in Bella Vista.

The Kingston girls on Saturday won the Elkins Invitational Cross Country Meet for Class 1-3A, while Averie Dunn of Huntsville finished third overall in Class 4-5A.

Shiloh Christian beat three other teams, including Huntsville, in a 9-hole match Monday at The Creeks Golf Course in Cave Springs.

Huntsville High School Senior Amos Mayes is a triple threat.

Huntsville beat Lifeway Christian School 3-0 on Monday in nonconference volleyball action.

Missed opportunities for the Eagles loomed large Friday as Pea Ridge came away with a 35-6 nonconference football win over Huntsville at Eagle Stadium.

The Eagles host Pea Ridge tonight at Eagle Stadium.
