The Huntsville School Board approved several recommended policies from the Arkansas School Board Association except for a few, including one that would have kept members from going on their own to visit individual school buildings. 

KINGSTON – The Kingston Community Library is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023. In celebration of this milestone in library and local history, the Friends of the Kingston Community Library are reprinting the popular history book, “A History of Kingston.”

Grouping bills together, flooding lawmakers with numerous bills at the end of a session, not keeping the public aware of what bills contain and not keeping a close eye on how much bills will cost the state are all worrisome trends in Arkansas, said District 28 State Sen. Bryan King last week.

Madison County Funeral Home Owner and Madison County Coroner Doug Rabold said he was surprised when opposition emerged recently to his plans to install a crematorium in a building he owns at 504 E. Main St.

Madison County officials are hoping grant money will help make improvements at the Wesley Community Center, one of five voting centers used during elections. The center, built in 1955, will need to be updated before it can continue as a voting center.

The public swimming pool at Withrow Spring State Park north of Huntsville will open for the season on Saturday and will be open through Labor Day in September.

Madison County Emergency Medical Services on Monday welcomed its newest member, a 2022 ambulance from Braun Ambulance builders in Van Wert, Ohio.
