The Huntsville School Board received a detailed report on the district’s four-day school week during its monthly meeting Tuesday, Sept. 15, and approved an estimated budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

In the days before classes started on Wednesday, Aug. 12, the new Kingston School Board was making final decisions before the school year started.

The news was a mix of positive and negative for the Huntsville School District during the Huntsville School Board’s work session Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The first day of school is just around the corner for students at Huntsville, St. Paul and Kingston as local districts prepare for the upcoming school year, welcoming students back the second week of August. 

The Kingston School Board approved several agreements between individuals and organizations throughout the region that the new Kingston School District believes will be beneficial in preparing to open this fall.

Huntsville School District and the newly formed Kingston School District officials reported preliminary proficiency data from the 2025-2026 school year’s ATLAS tests. 

At the Huntsville School Board’s regular meeting in June, the board congratulated and thanked several administrators who are leaving the district in July, making the June meeting their last.

As the newly de-consolidated Kingston School District works toward being a fully independent school district, a lot of work still needs to be done but the “dominoes are falling into place,” Superintendent Bryan Law informed the Kingston School Board during the board’s May 12 meeting. 

Several major personnel changes received Huntsville School Board approval during the board’s meeting on May 5.

St. Paul High School’s first SkillsUSA teams were among Arkansas students filling the Hot Springs Convention Center for the annual SkillsUSA State Conference held April 13-16. St. Paul students competed in Television News Production, Video Production, and Photography.
