Huntsville High baseball coach Greg Harris met up over the weekend with former Eagle Luke Eaton just prior to the Division II Junior College World Series in Enid, Okla. Eaton, a freshman pitcher, and the South Arkansas College Stars opened the World Series with a 10-0 win over Frederick, then beat Lansing 11-1.

The Huntsville School District extended an offer for the athletic director’s position, but Superintendent Jonathan Warren said “since the board is the entity that hires,” he would not confirm who the position was offered to until he sends out the school board meeting packet on Wednesday afternoon.

Madison County officials are hoping grant money will help make improvements at the Wesley Community Center, one of five voting centers used during elections. The center, built in 1955, will need to be updated before it can continue as a voting center.
