Most Huntsville residents are aware that firefighting is the primary mission of the Huntsville Fire Department, but it is not the only situation for which personnel are trained.

At least three inches of snow fell on Madison County beginning around 1 p.m. and ending sometime after 8 p.m. on Sunday, leaving city streets coated. Arkansas Department of Transportation blade and de-icing trucks were seen on Huntsville streets but as of 8 a.m. Monday there was little traffic on thoroughly coated roadways.

Madison County Sheriff Ronnie Boyd advised motorists to use caution on little-traveled roads as snow continued to fall around 11:20 a.m. Friday.
