A Huntsville man was arrested last week at the Madison County Probation Office and found with quantities of methamphetamine both in his possession and at his residence, where another man was also taken into custody.

A Madison County jury last week took 10 minutes to find a Berryville woman guilty of felony possession of methamphetamine and 10 minutes to sentence her to six years in the Arkansas Department of Correction after she refused an offer of probation and an expunged record from the prosecuting attorney’s office.

The following felony cases were resolved in Madison County Circuit Court during the month of August.

At a hearing last week, Hindsville resident Brennen Cline Machacek was sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to pay $10 special assessment and $500 restitution for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Brennen Cline Machacek, of Hindsville, is asking a court to allow him to serve his sentence through community service and probation after he pled guilty to a misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating or picketing a government building on Jan. 6, 2021. 

An Elkins man facing numerous Madison County charges, including third-degree domestic battery, kidnapping and fleeing, bonded out of the Carroll County Jail Aug. 30 only to be arrested again in a separate incident one day later.

Daniel Goodman, 33, of Elkins was arrested Sunday on multiple charges out of Washington County after a standoff in Wesley that involved Madison County Sheriff’s deputies assisting.

The following felony cases were resolved in Madison County Circuit Court during the month of July.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office personnel on Saturday were involved in a high-speed chase that began in the Huntsville area, then went to the Marble-Kingston area, with the suspect eluding capture.

Two local murder suspects had their trials last week continued until October, according to paperwork filed in the Madison County Circuit Court.

A Madison County Circuit Court jury on Tuesday convicted an Elkins man of raping his adopted daughter and sentenced the man to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

A Huntsville man and a passenger in his car were arrested last week in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured a Lowell police officer.
