Some elected officials are interested in hearing more about a partnership the State entered into with Phillips County to take over the management and operations of its jail to alleviate State prison overcrowding.

In the middle of 2024, Phillips County found itself with a new jail, but little money to operate it. The jail had become so expensive, county officials were faced with either shutting it down or finding another option for managing it.
