Patricia Faye Laird Vaughan

Patricia Faye Laird Vaughan, 76, of Hindsville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at home.  

She was born July 17, 1943, on High School Hill in Huntsville, the daughter of Fay and Rea C. Elzey Laird.

Pat married a 1960 classmate, Jim Vaughan, in 1962.  She was a graduate of Fayetteville Business College and received her business degree from the University of Arkansas.

Jim and Pat farmed in the Vaughan Valley for over 50 years.  She and her husband operated the Valley Inn Cafe and the Vaughan Valley Antique Shop in Hindsville, where they made many friends.

Pat was a 50-year member of Extension Homemakers, where she was active in the Whitener EHC.  She was a 4-H Leader and Alumni member.  She was also a charter member of the Committee of 100 for the Mountain View Folk Center and was a member of the Huntsville Crossbowettes.

Pat was a devoted mother and wife.  She was also a devoted member of the Hindsville First Baptist Church where she served as pianist for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Vaughan; one son, Buck Vaughan; one infant daughter, Jill ReEtta Vaughan; and her parents.  

She will be missed by many friends in the community and her church family.

Visitation was on Thursday, Oct. 17,  at Brashears Funeral Home.  

Funeral services were on Friday, Oct 18, in the chapel, with Max Bowlin officiating.

 Pallbearers were Gary Box, Roger Campbell, Stacy Easterling, Trey Fitch, Tillman Lane, Dusty Maupin, Rodney Reynolds, Dave Robinson, Shelby Sisemore and Kevin Wilson.

 Interment followed services in the Vaughan Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Buck Vaughan Athletic Scholarship Fund, Post Office Box 23, Hindsville, 72738.

 Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
